What mental models do you have about attending a college or university lecture?

What mental models do you have about attending a college or university lecture? Are these mental models helpful? Could any of these mental models hold you back from achieving the full benefit of the lecture? Qns) What mental models do you have about attending a college or university lecture? Are these mental models helpful? Could any of these mental models hold you back from achieving the full benefit of the lecture? Ans) Mental models: – This is the road map which we predict before we get started to achieve any goal in the life or before doing any work of task. These are the models which are prepared by our minds before doing any work. Like if we take the example of the student who is going to attend the university or college lecture. He has the mentality that how everyone will behave the class, how they will arrive and arrange themselves in the class and how all will answer the questions when asked by any of the teacher. These kind of mental models do not prove helpful in many of the ways because it limits our vision and blinds us from having a different vision about the particular thing or situations. For example if we take the example of the student, the mental models he made before attending the class has a very unique vision but when he meet up the reality he found that different kinds of things are happening and it is different about the things which he had envisioned. This… cts the mentality of that student and left him in the vicinity of some kind of depression. Yes, it I true that these mental models can hold us back in achieving the full benefit of the lecture because these mental models can make us think the coming situation in a better way but when the actual situation came on the screen then it affect the performance and build mental pressure on the student. This can be controlled by keep on asking the question to ourselves about why such kind of things has been developed in the mind. This will make up the mind in a different way and make the student to handle any kind of situation he will face while attending the lecture. This will not blind his vision about the environment of the class in which he is sitting and also about the behavior of the teacher.
